Meet Your Yogis

Meet your yogi host! We are so incredibly lucky to have Eileen join the Big Buddha team of yogis!

Eileen brings the wisdom of a seasoned yogi to her classes, weaving deep knowledge and insight into each of her teachings. From the moment you meet Eileen, you feel a sense of peace, comfort and supportiveness. Her practice is like being wrapped in a warm hug. After your retreat with Eileen, your mind, body and soul will be humming with a beautiful, serene energy, your breath will be fuller and easier and life will be just a bit easier from the teaching you learn on your mat.

Eileen started her yoga journey in 2011, with many years of hot yoga formerly (Bikram Yoga). As she aged, she became more invested in the spiritual aspect of yoga. Eileen attended a week long session with Deepak Chopra in Carlsbad, CA, learning more about the Yoga Sutras and chakras and primordial sound. She also attended a 4 day silence retreat with renown yogis and author Tias Little and his wife Surya in Santa Fe, NM to delve more into meditation and appreciating the subtle body.

Always tugging at the back of her mind was the thought of yoga teacher training which she achieved in 2019-2020 with Mark Nelson and Nikki Robinson (Narberth, PA). The renown Corina Benner guided Eileen in her Yin Yoga training and has also added chair yoga and myofascial yoga training as well.

Always inspired by her training as an elementary teacher, she approaches classes weaving Patanjali’s eightfold path knowledge through the alphabet. Eileen has traveled to many places over her 74 years -mostly enjoying islands around the world from Australia to Key West where she has lived.

The physical benefits of yoga lured Kathy to the mat in 1999. Not only did yoga transform her body; it transformed her mind and spirit. Little did she know that her yoga practice would play a huge part in her journey through breast cancer and into survivorship. Her practice has helped her grow stronger, more flexible and fearless - both on and off her mat.

Kathy is a graduate of the Verge Yoga teacher training. She has also trained with Erica Bleznak, Simon Park, Rolf Gates and Ed Harrold. Healthy breathing, alignment, and balanced energy flow are the focus in her classes. Her teaching style brings humor, support and a non-judgmental attitude to her class.

Meghan is the founder of Big Buddha Yoga Retreats. She first tried yoga in 2002 when her body was broken and in constant pain from countless injuries sustained from her athletic career, spanning childhood through college. After only one class, Meghan was hooked and yoga has become an integral part of every aspect of her life. She earned her 200hr teaching certification in 2007 and began teaching at various studios in Chester County until giving birth to her daughter, Quinn, in 2015. After a hiatus from teaching, Meghan decided it was time to jump back in when she was formulating classes in her head while practicing yoga herself. Meghan wants yoga to be accessible to everyone because it is her belief that the more people that practice yoga, the better the world will be.
